Safari

So, here are some of the pictures from our safari in Pilanesburg, South Africa. We had a wonderful time & were able to see so many animals close up. It's times like these that I wish we had a really nice camera to be able to capture what the moment was really like. But these will have to do! Enjoy!

Here's Ben holding a baby cub...as you can see the cub was not very happy. Just like in The Lion King, these cubs were working on their roar & it was quite funny!

These were the 2 person tents we stayed in while on safari...not too shabby.

This is a South African sunrise. The picture doesn't do it justice at all.

This was the morning of our first safari, where we had a guided tour. It was probably the coldest day we experienced yet in South Africa (it is winter here) and it was 6:00 in the morning in an open-topped vehicle. We were pretty miserable.

And here's our first giraffe we saw. I'm not sure how these animals ever blend in...they were very easy for us to spot because of their long necks! This one looks like it is howling. One interesting fact we learned about giraffes is that they give birth standing up, so those little babies have about a 6 foot fall when they come out! Ouch!
